The Dolls of the Alexandra Company

The founder and chief designer of the Alexandra Co. is Alexandra Koukinova. Under her steadfast guidance, the company produces dolls of outstanding quality and beauty. Porcelain is hand-painted and fired in the Moscow factory. All clothes are hand-stitched and embroidered by local seamstresses. Shoes, headdress, jewelry and accessories are all handmade by the company artisans.

Alexandra Koukinova began producing dolls in 1989. Her first dolls were made of cloth. These same dolls were later produced with ceramic faces. In 1995 Alexandra introduced her first porcelain dolls in the now famous "Russian Collection" of dolls. All doll up until then had been dressed in traditional festival costumes. 

Since then Alexandra Company has introduced a variety of dolls each year based on many themes.
